Hardtails offer mountain biking in its purest form. However, a hardtail's simplicity doesn't mean it shouldn't be ready to shred or be forward-thinking in its design.
The updated Boardman MHT range delivers against both, with more connection to the trail courtesy of new multi-alloy frame construction and a progressive, but not too progressive, geometry that places the MHT as a perfect all-rounder for UK trail centres and cross-country routes.

A great hardtail frame must be engaging and entertaining without being harsh and unpredictable. To achieve this balancing act, the MHT's frame utilises modern alloy extrusion technology in the stays, with a lighter, stronger 6011 butted aluminium used in the chainstay. This combination adds compliance to the rear triangle, helping the rear wheel to better track the trail, providing more feedback and comfort.
Smooth welds, internal cable routing, clean lines, clearance for 2.5" tyres and SRAM's UDH hanger make the MHT a no-nonsense, modern trail bike perfect for those just getting started or those taking their riding up a notch or two.

The 8.9's Deore 12-speed setup offers a marked weight reduction compared to lower-spec groupsets. The additional 10-tooth cog improves the potential top speed and reduces the steps between gears, allowing for more refined gear selection. The rear derailleur operates silently while efficiently shifting through the 10-51-tooth Deore cassette, ensuring stability and smooth power transfer in the drivetrain, particularly when navigating challenging off-road terrain.

Maxxis Forekasters are the perfect "fit and forget" choice for the MHT range, designed with UK conditions in mind. Designed specifically for the demands of modern shorter-travel trail bikes, they feature a versatile tread pattern that rolls faster than Maxxis' Minion tyre while offering more cornering stability and braking performance than their more XC-focused options.
The 8.9 comes equipped with the uprated folding bead tubeless version, featuring Maxxis EXO sidewall protection, a tough, cut-resistant material added to the tyre's sidewalls to protect your rubber on the rockiest trails.
